Precocious post-rockers Forest Park have come far in a short time, despite weathering their fair share of adversity. Though impeded by injuries and member shakeups, the group has released a demo and an excellent three-song EP, held a great release event at Mississippi Studios, and developed a strong local following that includes some of Portland’s best bands.
The quartet also turned in a stellar performance at one of the Banana Stand’s last public events. All of this and I’m pretty sure some of them are still too young to drink. Crazy.
Raw talent and demonstrated perseverance make Forest Park an act to watch, and a group whose live album we’re proud to maintain in our archive.
Please check out the album. Download it if you dig it. Please donate some money if you love it a lot. All proceeds go to support the artist, Banana Stand, and Chris Vita, without whose excellent mixing and mastering work this record wouldn’t exist. -L
Forest Park – Live from the Banana Stand was recorded before a live audience on July 30th, 2011 at the Banana Stand in Portland, Oregon. The album was mixed and mastered by Chris Vita. Brian David Smith handled design and layout for album art, which includes original photography from various ‘Standers and the original show poster, also by Brian. The Banana Stand would like to thank Forest Park (Katherine, Maya, Michael and Cyrus), all who participated in this album’s creation and anyone that has helped us out along the way.
