Live Record: The CRY!

The CRY! – Live from the Banana Stand will be released January 21st, 2014!

The CRY!, likely the most precociously talented young group Banana Stand has worked with, visited us in February 2013. When they did, they delivered a set reminiscent of long-time Portland favorites such as The Exploding Hearts and Blue Skies for Black Hearts. The CRY!’s sound is bright, energetic, and driving, and the band’s performance impressed us from the first moments of I Think I’m In Love through the close of Waiting Around. Check out their live record, and we think you’ll be similarly impressed.

But, The CRY! aren’t only talented, they are fervently dedicated. Not since The No Tomorrow Boys have we seen a band which pursues their vision with such whole-hearted commitment. The CRY!’s combination of youth, dedication, and talent, makes us proud to release a live record for them and has us looking forward to the band’s future.

The CRY! – Live from the Banana Stand was recorded before a live audience on February 23rd, 2013 at Banana Stand in Portland, Oregon. The album was mixed and mastered by Evan “Maus” Mersky at Red Lantern Studios. Dane Brist produced art for the album, which includes photography by Michael McInerney. Banana Stand would like to thank The CRY! (Ray Nelsen, Brian Crace, Dave Berkham, Maus Mersky), all who participated in this album’s creation, and anyone that has helped us out along the way.
