The laissez-faire attitude we'd taken with previous shows led to a messy evening, despite quality performances from Saucy Yoda and Shawn Holley's Mythological Horses. Alcohol was consumed in large quantities, we allowed things to be smoked in our basement and suspect that other substances were in play as well.

Following the show, there was a disagreement between Shawn Holley and his manager over Shawn's guitar in our neighbor's yard. The manager had provided a PA for the evening's show, had consumed many, many High-Lifes, and was feeling slighted somehow. Their argument culminated in Shawn being punched in the face by the much larger (and seemingly more sober) manager, after which Shawn collapsed like a sack of potatoes. Louie, witnessing these events from the 'Stand living room, ran without thinking to Shawn's defense, meeting the manager and his side-kick facial-tattoo-guy's battle cries of "LIME STREET" with the far-less-threatening entreaty "please leave, please leave, please leave." Manager and facial-tattoo-guy left soon after with the guitar, the reeling Shawn Holley was half-carried into the 'Stand to recover, and the police were not contacted.

This resulted in the realization that "house parties" featuring live music would be unsustainable. The 'Stand is a place where serious work was to occur, where music was documented, and where artists played with that purpose in mind.

House policies were changed following this show.
